Creating recordings
To create a recording, open Voicerec and press the large record button in the bottom center of the screen. This will automatically begin a voice memo recording.

You can pause the recording at any time by pressing the pause button at the bottom of the screen. Pressing play will also pause the recording and replay what has been recorded so far. When you have finished recording, press the stop button to complete the recording.
As many as you like! Voicerec does not place a limit on the number of recordings you can make.
As long as you like! Voicerec does not place a limit on the length of recordings you can make.
As soon as you stop recording, we process the audio file and push it to your phone within seconds. This process may take slightly longer for recordings over 30 minutes in length.
Managing recordings
Recordings can be accessed via the home screen of the Voicerec app. To access them, click on the notebook corresponding to the recording you wish to view or listen to. Your recordings are also stored on our secure servers and tied to your account for backup and disaster recovery purposes.
In order to change the name of a recording, you can long press on the corresponding notebook on Voicerec's home screen. Select the second option, labeled "Rename recording", enter the desired name for the recording and press "save".

Voicerec also offers the ability to group multiple recordings into a "Collection" and/or "Bookmark" individual recordings for easier access and management. You can access both of these features using the same long press action on an individual recording's notebook on Voicerec's home screen.
To transcribe a recording, open the Voicerec app and click on the recording that you wish to transcribe. You will then see a button in the center of the screen that says "Transcribe". Press this button to initiate the transcription process. Transcriptions may take up to 30 minutes to complete depending on the length of the recording.
Yes. You can edit any transcription by long pressing on an individual word or line in the transcription, which will surface multiple action options. Press "Edit" to begin editing the transcript. You can also access this feature by clicking the three dots in the top right corner of the screen when viewing an individual transcript.
To use either of these features, open the Voicerec app and click on the recording that you wish to interact with. Once you have opened the recording, you will see two tabs labeled "Summary" and "Action Items" near the top of the screen. Clicking on either will surface the relevant content for that recording.
In order to change the name of a recording, you can long press on the corresponding notebook on Voicerec's home screen. Select the last option, labeled "Delete recording". Deleted recordings will be kept in your "Recently Deleted" folder for 30 days, which can be found in the "Recording" tab in "Settings". After this time, recordings will be permanently deleted from your device and Voicerec's servers. You may also choose to permanently delete a recording immediately within the "Recently Deleted" folder by selecting the recordings you wish to permanently delete and clicking "Delete all" in the bottom left corner.
Your recordings will remain attached to your account so long as you register with your email address. If you change devices, please re-download the Voicerec app and login to your account using the same email address and password combination. All previous recordings saved to your account will automatically be downloaded to your new device once you have successfully logged into your account.
Sharing recordings
To share a recording, open the Voicerec app and click on the recording that you wish to share. You will then see a button on the bottom right of the screen that says "Share". Pressing this button will open up a sharing module with various options and settings for sharing your recording with others.
If you have shared your recording with others, you may remove their access via the sharing module. This can be accessed by opening a recording and pressing the "Share" button in the bottom right corner. Once you reach the sharing module, you can choose to make your recording available only to specific individuals by setting "General Access" to "Restricted". You can then use the "Direct Access" section to manage which individuals may access the recording.
Please ensure that your subscription remains active and in good standing. Once a subscription has expired, all shared recording links will be deprecated.
Account troubleshooting
You can edit the email associated with your Voicerec account at any time by navigating to the "Settings" section of the app using the gear icon in the top right corner. Once you are "Settings", press "Manage Account". On the following screen you will be able to see the email currently associated with your account. You can change the email associated with your account by either pressing the email currently listed or using the Apple or Google SSO options listed beneath it.

Please note that you may only have one email associated with your Voicerec account at a time.
You may cancel your Voicerec subscription at any time by completing the following steps:

  1. Open your phone's main "Settings" app
  2. Click your name at the top of the screen
  3. Go to "Subscriptions"
  4. Go to "Voicerec"
  5. Click "Cancel Subscription"
If you do not see the option to cancel once you have clicked into your Voicerec subscription, this means your subscription is already canceled and will not renew.
If you believe you are owed a refund, please complete the following steps:
  1. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com
  2. Sign in with your Apple ID and password
  3. Choose "Request a refund"
  4. Choose the reason for your refund request, then press "Next"
  5. Choose the item that you are requesting a refund for
  6. Click "Submit"
